Flowering at Cotton Plant (“Semal doda”) near Dubara Village appx 20 kms from Dehradun (Uttarakhand)
This is the best time to see birds on Cotton plant and I think flowering will be for some more days. Visited the area near the Dubara village along with architect Mr Ram Soni on 2nd March 2023 and clicked birds on Cotton plants. We waited for 2 hours patiently and the chirping and foraging of the birds started at around 8 am in the morning . Patience is the key for bird watching .
We observed numbers of birds like Greater Yellownape , Grey-hooded warbler , Rufous Sibia , Verditer Flycatcher , Slaty-headed Parakeet , Red-vented Bulbul and above all Maroon Oriole jumping from one branch to another on Cotton plant. Enjoy bird watching in this time of the season when flowering is in full bloom .
