Dhanaulti is a smaller hill-station situated in the foot hills of the Garhwal Himalayan range, 9 km from the Mussoorie. Dhanaulti is at an altitude of 2,300 meter, and set in beautiful forests of Deodar, Oak and Rhododendron. This leafy area is ideal for sightings of birds.

The most common bird species found in Dhanaulti are Hill Patridge, Kalij Pheasant, Oriental Turtle-Dove, Common Cuckoo, Collard Owlet, Speckled Piculet, Slaty-Headed Parakeet, Maroon Oriole, Pale Mountain Finch, Pink-Browed Rosefinch.
