Watching birds in Benog

To approach Benog from Mussoorie one must take the westbound unpaved road from the Hathipaon, past Cloud’s End. You have to walk through the Deodar and Oak forests of Benog.

This area is a quiet place, far from the noise and crowds of the hill station and is excellent for birders. The post-monsoon months in Benog are rewarding for birders.

In these forest one can watch- Rufous Sibia, Eurasian Jay, Black-Headed Jay, Spot Winged Tit, Green-Backed Tit, Whiskered Yuhana, Verditer Flycatcher, khaleej Pheasant, Pink-Browed Rosefinch.
